FRYEBURG — The Fryeburg Academy football team is quickly proving it’s an all-weather sort of squad. The Raiders won their opening playoff game in the snow on Oct. 27, and on Saturday proved it can handle the rain and wind by topping Gardiner 26-7 in the Class C South playoff semifinals. The win advances the boys from Fryeburg to the regional championship game for the first time.

Fryeburg, the No. 2 seed, is scheduled to play No. 1 Leavitt in Turner, Maine, this Saturday at 6 p.m. with a spot in the Class C State Championship game on the line.
