FRYEBURG — Fryeburg Academy put a wrap on another outstanding fall sports season on Nov. 15 with its annual sports night. With Athletic Director Sue Thurston serving as master of ceremonies, the evening featured a number of athletes being recognized for their accomplishment this autumn. It was another banner season for Raider Nation.
“I know there is always a lot going on this time of the year, but I do want to thank you all for coming out tonight to celebrate the efforts of our 197 fall student athletes,” Thurston said. “Many of these young adults started to prepare for this fall on June 18 by attending Brylie (Walker’s) Power Play five days a week, while others joined them at the preseason practices that started on August 13, when it was 77-degrees and sunny.”
