FRYEBURG — Before a healthy, boisterous crowd at Wadsworth Arena on Tuesday night, Fryeburg Academy boys’ basketball team came out determined and playing with great intensity to defeat the Marshwood Hawks in a Class A South preliminary round playoff game, 61-45.

The Raiders (9-10, seeded eighth) jumped to a 7-0 lead with Joe LeBrun converting a layup from a nifty feed by Oscar Saunders; a Saunders breakaway layup and foul shot; and a Scott Parker bunny off an assist by Ryan Hewes. Defensively, the game plan was executed to perfection.
