CONWAY — This is the sort of schedule Kennett High Cross-Country Coach Bernie Livingston would like to see every year. The Eagles have had four weeks to get ready for their first race of the season, the annual Paul Letarte Invitational at Great Glen Trails, which will take center stage at the top of Pinkham Notch on Saturday at 10 a.m.

“Four weeks is perfect,” Livingston, who is entering his 34th season at the helm of the cross-country program, said. “The schedule worked out this year just the way I wanted it. Last year, we had our first meet after only three weeks of practice and we weren’t really ready, but the Paul Letarte race is such a special race that I didn’t want to miss it. Now, it’s pushed back to where it traditionally has been, which is perfect for us.”
