CONWAY — A Maine man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly stealing a number of power tools from the Home Depot in North Conway and leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in Harrison, Maine, 30 miles away. Police said the stolen property was recovered at the scene.
According to the Conway Police Department, officers responded to a theft report at the Home Depot at approximately 7:11 a.m. Witnesses said a male suspect, later identified as Matthew C. Thompson, 37, of Fayette, Maine, fled the scene in a white Chevrolet pickup truck with a black ladder rack, heading toward North-South Road.
