CONWAY — The Kennett High volleyball team came oh-so-close to opening the season on a winning note on Friday night in Milton. Still, there were far more positives for the Eagles to take away from the 3-2 loss against Nute than negatives.

The host Rams won the pivotal fifth set to pull out a victory in a match that lasted more than two hours. Kennett won the first set 26-24, fell 22-25, 19-25, won 25-22 and dropped the final set 15-10.
