CONWAY — While the frigid temperatures kept some schools away, the Kennett High alpine team had a successful day on the slopes at Mount Cranmore on Friday, defeating Oyster River in giant slalom and slalom races.

Despite only one other team to race against, Coach Kevin Hamlin was pleased with how the Eagles skied. The hometown flock is peaking at the right time with the state championships just two weeks away.
