BRIDGTON, Maine — Bridgton Highlands hosted its first tournament of the summer season last Saturday, June 29. The "Season Opener,” attracted eight ladies' doubles teams and four teams for the men. Despite the chilly and overcast weather, the day went on without any interruptions.
In the main draw for the ladies, Carol Kelley/Pauline Smith earned a spot in the finals after defeating Abby Marble/Robin Curtis. In the second semifinal, Anna Romer/Christine Rothman edged past Sherri Bernier/Lee Fitzsimons.
