SEBAGO — Leonard Wayne Carruthers, 65, of Sebago, Maine, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 16, 2026, after a relentless battle with stage IV colorectal cancer. A true jack-of-all-trades and a joy to be around, Leonard left a legacy of hard work, kindness, and endless laughter.

Leonard was born in Bridgton, Maine, a son of Edward and Mary (Nutting) Carruthers. He was an extremely hardworking man who dedicated 30 years of his life as an arborist for Lucas Tree, followed by over 15 years as a rock crusher operator for P&K Sand & Gravel, and F.R. Carroll. He was the definition of a protector and provider, always the very first person to step up whenever anyone was in need.
