One of the benefits of growing old is that you get to see a lot of things you remember as a kid make a comeback. It wasn't that long ago that if you found an old fiberglass fly rod in a yard sale you could probably pick it up for a couple of bucks or, better yet, the guy would throw it in if you bought a $5 reel. Today, the fiberglass rod has been rediscovered. Just about every manufacturer of fly rods are offering glass models right along with their graphite ones.
