In high school sports, there can be great years and not-so-great years. Success can be attributed somewhat to coaching, but it has more to do with who comes out to play. The best coach can’t have great results if he or she doesn’t have a robust and well-rounded team.

One of the best ways to build a strong cross-country ski team is to get skiers involved early. Before students get to high school, it helps if they have basic skills and enjoy cross-country skiing. Middle school teams and Nordic development programs help “grow” these future high school ski racers.
