Hiking locally is the new normal. Tuesday morning, we woke up to half a dozen inches of white stuff. It wasn’t going to last long. I decided to experience what was very likely the last snowshoe of the winter. I visited the unique Big Rock Cave, located in the Sandwich Range Wilderness. It is a 1.9-mile hike from Wonalancet, part of Tamworth.

Leaving Tamworth village in late morning, I drove about 6.5 miles out 113A and pulled off to the left by the trailhead for the Brook Path. Across the road by a trail sign, there was a driveway that was the start of the Cabin Trail.
