Hiking with Ed - A hazy view of Mount Willey

A hazy view of Mount Willey in Crawford Notch from White Ledge in Albany. (ED PARSONS PHOTO)

Early this week I was looking for a hike that would be out of the cold breeze to some degree. I decided to go to an old valley favorite, White Ledge (1,450 feet) in Albany. Hadn’t been there in a while. The 4.4-mile loop hike covers a variety of landscapes.

Parking at the gated entrance of the White Ledge Campground (located on N.H. Route 16, five miles south of the Kancamagus Highway in Conway) I wasn't surprised to be the only one there.
