Everybody deserves to visit the forest. In many places in New England, all persons accessible trails are being built. In Tamworth, a hundred-year-old organization called the Tamworth Community Nurse Association has taken the lead in creating one.

The inspiration came when one of the board members of the Tamworth Community Nurse Association took her visiting adult son, who was physically challenged, on a trek in the woods. He loved it. She found it a challenge to find a trail without obstructions, and that led her to the idea of an All Persons Accessible Trail. She also felt more strongly than ever that everyone should have the experience of being in the woods, on a physical and spiritual level.
