“Never try to be better than someone else. Learn from others and try to be the best you can be. Success is the by-product of that preparation.” — John Wooden, basketball coach

It is a truism. Golf brings the best and the worst out of those who play. Everyone who plays golf has experienced the ups and downs: the thrill of a great shot; sinking a 45-foot bending putt; winning a club tournament. They have also experienced cold-topping an iron; shanking a ball 30 yards from the green; or missing putt after putt from a makeable distance.
