OTISFIELD — It is concert time at the historic 1839 Bell Hill Meetinghouse in Otisfield! Bailey’s Mistake, a not-quite-traditional Celtic-inspired four-piece folk band from Maine, will play the Meetinghouse on Sunday, Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. The Meetinghouse is located at 191 Bell Road, Otisfield.

The group mixes traditional music from Ireland, Scotland, and Newfoundland with brand new songs about contemporary life in New England. Bailey’s Mistake is made up of four seasoned musicians, who all went to Bonny Eagle High School. Their mix of guitar, percussion, and bass is topped off with hearty vocal harmonies and thrilling bagpipe and whistle tunes. The band is recording and released one new song each month in 2025. They take their name from a legend told for generations along the Maine coast. Come for the lively music! Come to hear the legend! Come spend an evening with friends both old and new.
