Par might be everyone’s friend this weekend as the top male golfers tackle Pinehurst No. 2 in Pinehurst, North Carolina for the 124th U.S. Open. The third major of the season might be the most difficult. The fairways are firm and the greens are lightning-fast. Not the best recipe for low scoring.

The tournament opened on Thursday, and as of 12:30 p.m., just 12 of the 78 golfers to tee off at that point were under par. More golfers were closer to 10-over than to 6-under par.
