North Country Angling - ice fishing equipment

Check your ice fishing equipment now to insure optimal performance. (STEVE ANGERS PHOTO)

Driving to the shop on Friday morning, the Jeep thermometer showed minus 4 degrees. This brought a smile and a little extra hustle to get to the shop and to finish putting out the ice fishing gear that had arrived on Thursday. The recent weather means that the hardwater anglers will be mobilizing.

Ice fishing, also known as hardwater fishing, is a great way to enjoy our winters. We are fortunate to have many bodies of water in the area that lend themselves to ice fishing. Being able to “walk on water” lets anglers fish pieces of water that are not easily fishable during our summer fishing season.
