With the closure of Designated Trout Ponds and the majority of streams to trout fishing, what is an angler to do? Fortunately for those of us here in the Mount Washington Valley, we have many options to cure that fishing jones rather than trying to quit cold turkey and wait for the ice to form.

The northern chain pickerel is one of those fish that is plentiful in the valley. The chain pickerel can be found in many of our ponds and the chain pickerel is a willing adversary. The chain pickerel has a voracious appetite and will aggressively attack your bait, lure or fly.
