This Wednesday I went twice to the 305 acre Alice Bemis Thompson Wildlife Sanctuary in Sandwich, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Yet I went to two different places.

In the morning I went with a spring bird walk. Every year, as migratory birds arrive from the south in April and May, spring bird walks are led by Tamworth resident Ned Beecher. They meet at 7 a.m. in Tamworth and travel to environments in Tamworth and neighboring communities. Afterward he compiles a list of all the birds seen and heard.
