CONWAY — “Ruthian.”

That adjective — describing something or someone as remarkably powerful, magnificent or outstanding, particularly in the context of baseball — was coined to refer to the New York Yankees star outfielder George Herman Ruth Jr. (1895-1948), a.k.a. Babe, “the Sultan of Swing,” “the Colossus of Clout” and “the Titan of Terror.”
