Did you know that the Northeast has the “densest rail trail network in the United States and much of this network is in New Hampshire? In fact, New Hampshire has more rail trails per capita than anywhere else in the United States.” Craig Della Penna, an expert on rail trails in the Northeast, made these statements in Charles F. Martin’s “New Hampshire Rail Trails, 2nd Edition.”

Much of this trail network is still undeveloped and undiscovered, except for winter use by snowmobilers. There’s still more possibilities of rail trails to ride in the future.
