Mount Washington Valley Bicycling Club posted a “Lupine Ride” for last Friday, May 12. The meeting place was Pinkham B (Dolly Copp) Road in Randolph. The 23-mile ride would be a mix of paved road, dirt road and rail trail riding. Its ultimate goal was to see as many lupines as possible. Word was they were in full bloom!

Lupines are wildflowers, in the legume family, that grow throughout the United States. They are rarely eaten because of their bitter taste. It’s their purple, pink, white and blue flowers that attract pollinators and people alike. Growing 1 to 5 feet tall, in early to mid-June, they cover fields of the White Mountains and Seacoast with color.
