On a beautiful fall morning, my friend Elaine Stockbridge and I decided to pedal the scenic Jackson-Dundee Loop. It is a less-than-14-mile mixed pavement-gravel ride. However, with 1,755 feet of elevation gain and a 16.7 percent maximum grade on Dundee Road’s ā€œWall,ā€ it’s challenging enough!

Pedaling over Thorn Hill Road to Intervale’s 16A, we turned left. At Dundee Road, we turned left again, climbing, then descending to Black Mountain Ski Area. At Moody Farm Road, we went straight. At Carter Notch Road, turning left, we cruised downhill to Jackson Village.
