Many years ago, I heard about a mysterious place in Eaton where blueberry picking was outstanding. Whispered around the Eaton Village Store was the news that the Foss Mountain fields were open for picking. My ears perked up. Blueberries — my favorite fruit — were free for the picking? Images of pies and muffins and ice cream topped with blueberries danced in my head.

But, where was Foss Mountain? I’d never seen it or heard of it. I heard a rumor that if you drove up Stewart Road past the Snowvillage Inn and kept going, you’d find it. So we set out to find this mysterious mountain covered with blueberries.
