FRYEBURG, Maine — According to Fryeburg Police Chief Aaron Mick, the Fryeburg Police Department, Fryeburg Fire Department and Fryeburg Rescue located the site of a small aircraft crash and confirmed one fatality on Thursday afternoon.

The single-engine plane was found in a wooded area, reportedly off Porter Road near the old lumber yard. Porter Road runs south from Portland Street through heavily wooded terrain (Route 113), parallel to the runways at Eastern Slope Regional Airport in Fryeburg.
