Because of the union contract and a desire to give town employees at the Conway Transfer Station two days off in a row, including a weekend day, selectmen are considering changing the hours the facility is open. Currently, it is closed Sunday afternoon and Monday. Changing the hours is fraught with political risk as selectmen have to balance rewarding employees with inconveniencing the public. One suggestion is to close the transfer station Friday and Saturday. Another is to close Sunday and Monday.

This week’s TeleTalk question: What changes to the transfer station’s hours of operation would you support, if any?
