The minimum wage in New Hampshire was last raised 16 years ago, when it was set at $7.25, the same as the federal minimum wage. However, due to the current labor shortage, few employees still make only $7.25. It is generally known that even restaurant dishwashers earn $15 an hour. But in today's housing market, to afford just a one-bedroom apartment in New Hampshire often requires making $27 an hour. And to buy an average home in the state requires an annual income of $117,000.

There were 46 responses via email, voicemail and Facebook to this week’s Tele-Talk question: Would raising the state’s minimum wage help ease the affordability challenge renters and homebuyers are facing?
