To the editor:

Contrary to what a lot of folks believe, Ralph W. Shirley Post 46 in Conway is so much more than a bar! Back in December the post became involved with the “Christmas Can Cure” up in Jackson, which is only one of the many events the post not only sponsors, but supports wholeheartedly. Much to my surprise a retired Marine asked where we were from, I responded, Post 46 in Conway. He then said, “Oh, the bar.” My response was very defensive I have to say.
