To the editor:

Christmas season is here. It is the time of year for love, prayer, planning family celebrations, shopping for gifts and preparation for the coming of our Lord Christ, the messiah, prince of peace. But something just does not seem right.

Just a footnote to my previous submission:

A 2025 report from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), using 2014–2023 American Community Survey data, found that 81% of Somali immigrant-headed households in Minnesota used at least one major welfare program (including cash assistance, SNAP/food stamps, or Medicaid). This rises to 89% for households with children. Breakdowns include ~54% on SNAP and ~73% with at least one member on Medicaid.

Maybe someone can explain the positive contribution that this segment of the population brings to bear, because I'm not seeing it.

What I am seeing is the latest foreign group of "oppressed", grievance-ridden, leeches who think they are owed something and whom the Democrats have taken under their wing.

“My heart leaped thinking about the lesson of the Good Samaritan.”

As with the inscription on the Statue of Liberty, both are wonderful humanitarian ideals, but neither is the basis for making or building domestic or international policy.

And here’s the thing: The United States of America has historically been the most generous country on the planet when it comes to humanitarian aid and emergency relief. So, I think we have that covered when it comes to practicing Christian charity.

Even the Biden administration's misguided and mishandled illegal immigration policies were supposedly predicated on being “humanitarian,” as we looked on in gobsmacked disbelief at the unregulated invasion of millions of unvetted illegal aliens.

So, that being said, let’s not even try to justify what has been nothing more than a billion-dollar scam strategically designed to move massive amounts of cash from our treasury directly to a concentrated population and redirected back to foreign actors under the moniker of Somalian refugee relief. Not to mention all the dishonest individuals in various levels of the Minnesota government and unregulated NGOs, all of which benefited by looking the other way or directly facilitating.

And why exactly are we supposed to support the Somali communities' absolute unwavering resistance to assimilate into our American culture under the banner of “religious freedom,” while trying not only to maintain their Islamic traditions, but also to impose those traditions on everyone within their sphere of influence and beyond.

They insist on Sharia Law as their guiding governance of civil society, while also projecting their call to prayer throughout the rest of the neighborhood for all to hear.

By all indications, they have brought all the worst parts of their “culture” that we were supposed have rescued them from, complete with a civil structure of local warlords and the absolute subjection of women.

Should Trump not have used the word “garbage”? Probably not, so let me dress up his intention to accommodate your liberal, sensitive ears.

As it stands, all indications point to a parasitic culture of the Somali enclave in Minnesota and possibly Maine, not compatible with America’s ideals of civil society. They appear to be far more concerned with remaining loyal to Somalia and funneling our cash to that end. If anything, we need to seriously consider repatriating them to their country of origin if they can’t abide by our American culture or follow our laws.

Here’s a quote for you: “I don’t care what anyone says, good people get tired of being good to ungrateful people.”

As for Islam being a compatible religion with our mostly Judeo/Christian society, here’s something to consider directly from the Muslim Brotherhood's "Settlement Process": A 1991 internal memorandum titled An Explanatory Memorandum: On the General Strategic Goal for the Group describes its work in America as a, "grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions".

If you think they are just being hyperbolic or have any doubts about their agenda, just take a look at what’s happening in Europe, or NYC, or Texas. The data speaks for itself.

And it’s not “Islamophobic” to point this out either.
