To the editor:

This letter is in regard to the MAGA hats and AK-47 flags at the fair letter on Oct. 8 from Rich Collins.

The Fryeburg Fair was anything but trashy and divisive as Collins stated. There is zero divisiveness simply just by promoting an American president.

These vendors make a living. If you find their flags or attire offensive, I think you might be out of touch watching the news. Freedom of speech, remember?

After a lengthy illness, it was a delight for me to return to the fair three times this year just to watch the families with their children in laughter and excitement.

I’m pretty sure political props do not and will not deter families from a wonderful, long-held tradition.

As they say, if you don’t like it, don’t go. By the way, Collins might just have a better time at the Sandwich Fair ... just saying.

Some of the shirts they were selling were lewd and offensive and did not belong at a family event.
