To the editor:

On March 4, 300 people protested in Conway village. Concerns are increasing statewide about the Trump administration. Fascism is not yet what we’re seeing. That's because there are still two major parties, First Amendment rights, the courts, and Congress. Some of these checks and balances have lost power, Congress for example, but they all still have the potential to resist. Scholars call what’s happening "competitive authoritarianism."
