CONWAY — If you’ve noticed a little less brown on the exterior of the Conway Village Congregational Church (often called the Brown Church for the color of its siding) that’s because the years-in-the-making project has begun.

In 2019, the trustees of the church had planned a capital campaign for improvements to the 1906-built church, but those efforts were stalled by the COVID-19 pandemic. Then, just as they were about to reinitiate the campaign in 2024, a devastating December 2023 flood significantly damaged the building.
