To the editor:

Elements of the Democratic Party have moved in the direction of a radical ideology. However, there is something much bigger going on here which is the number of young people paying greater attention to political policies they regard as harmful to the common good.

Charlie Kirk wasn't interested in talking, he was interested in grooming young people with his views.

The problem isn't that people aren't listening, it's that people like you aren't living in a factual world. The Left is radical? How about the authoritarianism the Right is supporting as they try to strip away the freedom of the press and free speech? That doesn't strike you as radical? Oh, I forgot, you're just repeating Trump's BS. Never mind.

“Charlie Kirk wasn't interested in talking, he was interested in grooming young people with his views.”

That’s just factually false, and your characterization is specious at best. It’s your type of inflammatory rhetoric that is exactly the problem today. It stokes the resentment that inspires bad actors to turn to violence as a “solution” to those with whom they disagree.

“The problem isn't that people aren't listening, it's that people like you aren't living in a factual world.”

You always write about being the one who has a grasp of the facts. Yet, you continually refuse to consider that maybe your “facts” aren't anything but an inability to step away from your personal belief system to consider any other possible point of view. Instead, when threatened with an alternate perspective, you immediately, instinctively feel the need to defend your orthodoxy. You basically “aren’t listening”.

“The Left is radical? How about the authoritarianism the Right is supporting as they try to strip away the freedom of the press and free speech?”

Yes, Mike, the Left has become extremely radical. Besides wrapping their arms gleefully around self-proclaimed Socialists, Communists, and Muslim Extremists. They have had an indisputable chokehold on social media platforms, mainstream media, Hollywood, and the “free press”. It hasn’t been until recently that their grip has been loosened and conservative opinions have started leaking through.

“That doesn't strike you as radical? Oh, I forgot, you're just repeating Trump's BS. Never mind.”

Not exactly a compelling or intellectually honest retort. More like a preadolescent’s response to being caught in a lie.

I'm so sorry for you. Your fantasy world revolves around "alternative facts" provided by your dear leader. Facts are facts, and are irrefutable. Interpretation of some can mean different things to different people, but it doesn't change the facts. For example, it's a fact that Trump was recorded begging an election official to make up fictitious votes for him so he could try to hold on to power when he'd gotten crushed in the 2020 election. That's a fact. No matter how much you dance around and try to make excuses for your dear leader, it doesn't change that. You will continue to do so, bereft of facts to support your fantasies. I pity you and your fellow cult members.
