FRYEBURG, Maine — While Woodmen’s Field Day highlights the brute strength and skill of ax-wielding, hardy lumberjack and lumberjane types — chopping and rolling logs, sawing with speed and other similar feats with wood — a different kind of strength will be on display a short way away through the fairgrounds.

The fan favorite skillet toss returns to the Fryeburg Fair’s Swine & Goat Grandstand on Monday, Sept. 29, at 11:30 a.m. The competition is open to women of all ages, divided into age groups covering around 15 years with the oldest group being 70-plus.
