I was planning to return to Mount Washington for one final climb with my son. This is being discarded because of the animosity that your president has created between our independent countries.

It is sad that individual Canadians are playing politics with a legitimate beef that we have with Canada, namely a perpetual trade deficit. I guess being friends with America means we should in effect subsidize your country to the tune of tens of billions of dollars per year. We should allow you to sell your products with very low tariffs into our country while you put up trade barriers against many of our products so they can't be sold in yours.
As to Trump calling former PM Trudeau "Governor," he can be a jerk and that was demeaning. It should not have been part of the trade issue. But if you want to avoid New England and Florida because Trump is a jerk, that is your choice. I can't imagine his views on Canada being the "51st state" would at all affect your vacation, but perhaps I am wrong.
Iron Hornsby Ottawa Ontario this may surprise you to hear that Canadian tourism has overwhelmed the state of Florida to the state of our beloved New Hampshire. Enough said. You climb your highest peak in Canada and we will continue to climb our beloved Mt. Washington. We love our Country as much as you love yours.
