To the editor:

Well, President Donald Trump’s anti-science, anti-common-sense administration is at it again. This time its target is the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colo. The institution’s alleged crime is spreading “misinformation” about climate change. You have to wonder whether anyone in this administration has ever taken a science course.

It is very unfortunate that when the politicians politicize the work of scientific, law-enforcement, health-care, education, or whatever other government entity or program you want to name, that there can be terrible repercussions when things are brought back into balance. People get hurt for sure.

The politicization of many of our government systems occurred under Democrat administrations. We had teachers politicizing our education system. We had the FBI conducting raids at a former president's house. We had the DOJ actively practicing lawfare against a former president with the help of local partisan DAs and judges. And we had politicians using "settled" climate-change science to direct hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars towards their pet-projects which would have done next to nothing to solve the alleged problem.

If all of our politicians instead focused on smaller government, paid for unbiased scientific research, and did not weaponize our law enforcement bureaucracies to target their opponents, maybe the things the writer complains about would not be happening. Perhaps the writer should have spoken out against his Party's weaponization while it was ongoing, rather than excusing it now that it is being dismantled. Maybe this is the reason we have not politicized such institutions in the past, because the repercussions would be unpleasant.

An analogy would be the Democrats have been robbing the bank, and now that a new sheriff is in town and cleaning things up, we are worried about the poor robber's family that is suffering because their husband and father is in the pokey. As Baretta used to say, "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime."

The gravy train of biased, politically motivated scientific research by the Democrats' climate-change money machine is hopefully coming to an end, but that will mean some legitimate science is going to also suffer.

The good news is we are no longer wasting billions of dollars on useless research, flushing billions of dollars down the drain on wind and solar projects, using public funds to enrich Democrat-donors pet climate-change projects, all while doing next to nothing to change our planet's carbon footprint. As the US flushed this money down the toilet and residents faced higher energy costs across the board, China was building a coal-powered plant a week and India and Africa were right behind.

Thank goodness the Democrats' war on gas and oil is also over. We have seen prices come way down since Biden, we are building new pipelines and opening up more drilling, and we now need to play catch up with the Chinese Communist Party which is now generating 2x or 3x more electricity than the entire US because they never fell for this nonsense. They did, of course, encourage us to do so.

G, please come back to us from the land of delusion, aka MAGA land.

The Democrats didn't weaponize anything, or practice lawfare, that's pure MAGA madness and projection. They charged a criminal with his crimes. Your analogy is idiotic while supporting Trump. A real analogy would be that Trump is like a bank robber caught red-handed, who then whines about how the police weren't nice to him and the prosecutor did their job and prosecuted him. If he didn't want to get punished, he shouldn't have committed the crimes. You know, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. You know, like if the FBI for almost a year tells you to provide certain items and you not only refuse, but then hide the items, you shouldn't really be surprised your home gets raided, you earned it.

It's astonishing that anyone in this day and age could still be ignorant enough to cheer on more use of fossil fuels or more drilling.

Equally asinine is your assertion that research in solar and wind projects is a waste of money. Then again, if you're in denial about fossil fuels and climate change, it's not surprising you don't understand that.

Please get a grip on reality.

Some of them have taken science courses, but they can't admit it, as anything they learned would disprove their dear leader's lies. No one in his circle of sycophants dares to tell the dear leader he's wrong despite so many opportunities...weekly, daily, hourly.
