Amazing! We still have a multitude of issues in Fryeburg and lots of costs related to all the issues. With all this we have no comments coming from our senators or selectmen nor any plan to correct them but it is OK for the senator to take on this Red Iron Bridge farce and for selectman to decide, without townspeople approval, to refuse (as stated in The Conway Daily Sun on Sept. 28) “for reasons that were never explained, selectmen voted to ban the state from repaving the road. Because of that vote, the town lost out on $200,000 in road repairs. In exchange for the inconvenience of removing the bridge, the state initially offered to either build a pedestrian bridge where Red Iron Bridge once stood or spend $200,000 resurfacing Old River Road.”
