We’ll state the obvious: Traffic is getting worse. We’ve learned to expect it during peak tourist times, but now shoulder seasons give us little relief, particularly in Conway Village. On any off-season late afternoon midweek, drivers heading south can expect to start slowing down and queuing up on Route 16 by the Revo Casino.
And although Conway’s new master plan is comprehensive, it doesn't directly address roads.Â
Stop the cancer of urban sprawl ! Our towns and roads are full ! Maybe, with the right prayers said, visitors will get fed up and go elsewhere.
After living in a place where they expanded and expanded, making roads 2 or 3 lanes in each direction, only to bring in more and more, those in power during the massive and growing tumor have been voted out of power. The new regime, being fed up with all the same things going on here went in the complete opposite direction.
Roads have been restored to one lane in each direction, with turning lanes for right and left turns from end to end. Their motto is, SLOW DOWN, GO AWAY, DONT COME HERE.
