CONWAY — A Carroll County Superior Court judge ruled that a man who was charged with dragging a 9-year-old child who annoyed him into his home, striking the boy and threatening the boy’s friend could be freed on $500 cash bail and several other conditions after his public defender said he has received many letters of support.

Daniel Thoresen, 51, of Conway has been in jail for approximately three months. He was arrested June 5 and charged with felony kidnapping, criminal restraint, second-degree assault and misdemeanor criminal threatening and simple assault. He was indicted Aug. 21 on counts of kidnapping and second -degree assault.
