To the editor:I am an employee at Mountain View Nursing Home, and i am writing in response to the article in the Daily Sun on Tuesday, June 10, regarding the goose problem on county property and how they have no respect for county government.Well, I think it is all in the approach. We get more respect from these geese than we do management at the nursing home.I think I have a solution to the problem: Treat them like you do the staff members. First give them an educational write-up. Then give them a written write-up. If that doesn't work then try suspending them for three days. And if still no luck fire them. After that it would be considered loitering and you could arrest them and throw them in the county jail.Really, if they are in fact disrespecting the county government, they ought to have a chance to tell their side of the story.Dr. Dolittle talks to the animals all the time. Give him a call and he might be able to give you a hint about how to communicate with them. This article was kind of funny to us especially after not too long ago when two employees who went outside for their break and almost got their heads bit off by a department head for wrongly identifying dog crap for goose crap. One girl said, "Oh, I almost stepped in dog crap," and the department head yelled at her and said, "That isn't dog crap, it's goose crap." Well, I guess crap is crap and this is the type of crap we deal with on a daily basis.
