To the editor:Regarding Susan Bruce's recent column and highlights of the N.H. State Budget she makes the statement, "I wasn't aware that the Legislature could pick and choose what state laws would be enforced." Nor was I, since it's the role of the executive branch to enforce the laws.She also implies the increase of a 28-cent-a-pack tax on cigarettes wasn't enough and that "Addicts will continue to feed their addiction. Of course, that addiction will eventually cost the state big bucks in medical treatment but we don't want to talk about that."Since she is so adamant about curtailing disease and death, maybe she would endorse a tax on abortions? Are there any taxes your not against? How about we just mail our pay checks into the "the government"? There is an implication all through her column that only the government can deal with people's problems andsorry Susanthat, thankfully isn't so. After reading this, Susan, why by coy?Just rename your column "Sue the Socialist." No legal implications suggested.
