Now that it appears that SAU 9 Assistant Superintendent Aimee Frechette will accept the job as superintendent, it is in all of our interests to see that she succeeds. The school system is a mess and leadership is needed immediately.

In addition to a dozen unfilled teacher positions, there is a green principal at Pine Tree, a new principal in Bartlett, a new career tech director, a new dean of students at the high school and an upcoming vacancy in the assistant superintendent’s office. There are also underlying issues like low test scores and sending towns that are exploring other options.
