Three years ago in The Conway Daily Sun, I had the privilege of sharing my family’s “Immigrant Story,” escaping communism, coming to America after six years of patiently waiting in a displaced persons camp for a sponsor, while being turned down several times.

Our names are proudly inscribed on the Immigrant Wall of Honor at Ellis Island. Five years later, in 1956, we gratefully and humbly were able to become U.S. citizens. Now I’d like to share the positive impact my immigrant experience had on my role in education and society.

What a shame that our current President and his entire Administration have turned our Immigration System into a complete joke. They keep saying the "System is broken" but they are the ones who shattered it.

They have taken the term "Asylum Seeker" and turned it into an unrecognizable, cynical joke.

Wanting to stop this absolute abuse is not xenophobic, racist, or conspiratorial.

Thinking we can absorb millions of unvetted, undocumented, strangers into our Country is the height of absurdity.
