How do people make excellent decisions?  Two ingredients: Good judgment and good information. When it comes to America’s foreign policy over the past 70 years there has been a dearth of both. We voters deserve the blame for electing presidents with lousy judgment, but accurate and complete information from massive intelligence budgets is something we should expect. 

In 1961, the CIA trained 1400 Cuban exiles to attack the Fidel Castro regime. JFK approved the attack but without U.S. air support. He was told the Cuban people would rise up and join the attack. They didn’t. The landing craft cracked up on coral reefs they didn’t know about. The attack failed spectacularly.
