After a long illness and a short, but debilitating deficiency of waffles, Doug McAllister crossed the rainbow bridge on Aug. 18. Doug was born in Haverhill, Mass., the revered only child of Wilfred McAllister and Alberta Redlon McAllister. His childhood was spent in Haverhill, walking uphill both ways in the snow to school, before moving to Merrimac, Mass., at the age of 9.
A dedicated lifelong nerd, Doug's interest in computers and techy gadgets began at Pentucket Regional High School and continued at the Andover Institute of Business. He'd love to tell you about how he worked on the Apollo program while at MIT, at Boeing and at the inception of the Seabrook Nuclear Power Station. He also worked for many years in the finance sector at Fidelity Investments and others, which he wouldn't tell you so much about because it was boring. He did meet his wife, Christina, at work, though, so there's that.
