CONWAY — Two months into the school year, the Conway School Board is already keeping a close eye on the pocket book. Board members learned from Superintendent Kevin Richard the special education budget is currently operating at a $234,000 deficit due to unanticipated changes and additions to individual education plan (IEP) services and placements.
"The $234,000 is not alarming, but it's good to talk about going forward," Richard told the board. "This was for September. On the scale of 0-10, right now it's about a 2."
