A two-vehicle accident snarled traffic at the Maine/New Hampshire border on Route 302 Wednesday afternoon but resulted in no serious injuries.The accident occurred at about 2:22 p.m. According to Fryeburg Police Department, a 1989 GMC pickup driven by Gilbert Hamilton, 77, of Manchester, Mass., collided with a 2003 Ford Explorer driven by Earl Gould, 62, of Sydney, Nova Scotia.Both vehicles were eastbound, police say. Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the Ford Explorer was attempting to reverse direction. He pulled over and was exiting a driveway, and he apparently pulled into the path of the pickup.The accident occurred within feet of the Maine/New Hampshire border.A total of six people were in the two vehicles. All were checked by emergency personnel at the scene; nobody was transported to the hospital.Fryeburg Police Department was assisted at the scene by Conway Police Department. Also responding were Fryeburg Fire and Rescue, Saco Valley Fire Department, Conway Rescue and Center Conway Rescue.The crash is under investigation by Fryeburg Police Department. Investigating officer is Michael Chaine.
