CONCORD — Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and New Hampshire Insurance Department Commissioner John Elias announced Tuesday that David McCarthy of Alton has pleaded guilty and was sentenced  in the Carroll County Superior Court to one felony count of insurance fraud, and one felony count of witness tampering.

Between Jan. 1, 2013, and Feb. 28, 2015, McCarthy, 62, fraudulently billed both Cigna Corp. and Anthem Inc. for chiropractic services that he did not render.
