CONWAY — Tuesday’s powdery storm packed a lot less moisture content than its immediate predecessors, making it much easier for residents to clear their driveways and for ski areas to groom it into good conditions.

“This snow was light, fluffy stuff with no rain this time. We recorded 5.8 inches at our weather station on Pine Street in North Conway Village,” said Brian Fitzgerald, director of education for the Mount Washington Observatory, which maintains the Pine Street weather station for the U.S. Weather Service in addition to the summit observatory atop Mount Washington.
